Here, we’ll be exploring how Japan supports education around the world—from building schools and providing learning materials to training teachers and helping kids get the quality education they deserve.

We chose this topic because we truly believe education is the most powerful tool for changing lives and opening up future opportunities. While many people know about Japan’s financial aid, fewer are aware of its hands-on educational support in developing countries. We wanted to dive deeper and see the real impact of these efforts.

So far, we know that organizations like JICA have been doing incredible work across Asia, Africa, and beyond. But the more we learn, the more questions we have: How effective are these programs in the long run? What hidden challenges do they face? Are they truly meeting the needs of local communities?

While we’re rooting for Japan’s initiatives and believe that expanding access to education is key to reducing inequality, we don't want to just paint a perfect picture. Our goal is to look at both the inspiring success stories and the real limitations through our research.
